elementor - v3.18.0 - 20-12-2023 *\/\n.elementor-widget-text-editor.elementor-drop-cap-view-stacked .elementor-drop-cap{background-color:#69727d;color:#fff}.elementor-widget-text-editor.elementor-drop-cap-view-framed .elementor-drop-cap{color:#69727d;border:3px solid;background-color:transparent}.elementor-widget-text-editor:not(.elementor-drop-cap-view-default) .elementor-drop-cap{margin-top:8px}.elementor-widget-text-editor:not(.elementor-drop-cap-view-default) .elementor-drop-cap-letter{width:1em;height:1em}.elementor-widget-text-editor .elementor-drop-cap{float:left;text-align:center;line-height:1;font-size:50px}.elementor-widget-text-editor .elementor-drop-cap-letter{display:inline-block}<\/style>\t\t\t\t<h4>Founder&#8217;s Comments<\/h4><p>The Earth has changed due to human actions, and nature is accelerating those changes.\u00a0 If we and the many others working on this problem cannot reestablish the equilibrium that we had in the past, the Earth that we end up with may not support human life.<\/p><p>Literally, your future and that of future generations depend on our success in addressing this problem.\u00a0 You will be working on the most important problem that the world has ever faced.<\/p><p>We will be attacking this problem on many fronts, so we will need scientists, entrepreneurs, business managers, sales and marketing people, people with advertising and social media skills, political influencers, and many others.<\/p><p>Whether you are a student, a professional in mid-career or a retiree, there is work for you to do.\u00a0 The problem is global, so we will need volunteers from every corner of the Earth.<\/p><p>Here is a description of what we will try to provide for you as a volunteer:<\/p><ul><li>A project to work on with a team leader and a team to support you.\u00a0<\/li><li>A mission to accomplish and information to get you started.<\/li><li>An understanding of where your role fits in the larger effort.<\/li><li>An opportunity for more responsibility when you are ready for it.<\/li><\/ul><p>In addition to the satisfaction, you should experience from your work on this important project, we hope you will enjoy the camaraderie of working on a team with other likeminded volunteers.<\/p><p>You should also be aware that the world will be changing over the next decade as the economy and society change in response to the fight against climate change.\u00a0 As a participant of this effort, you will likely be on the cutting edge of these changes.\u00a0 New companies will spring up, and some older ones may not survive.\u00a0 There will be many opportunities.<\/p><p>Army of Volunteers for Earth (AofV), as a nonprofit, will probably not be able to pay you a salary or commissions.\u00a0 However, your career may benefit greatly from what you learn and the skills you acquire and also from the individuals and companies you meet from your<br \/>participation in this project.<\/p><p>Whether you benefit financially or not, we will do our best to make your participation an adventure for you.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h4><strong>What we would like you to do as a volunteer:<\/strong><\/h4><p>1. Meet your commitments, if possible: Most of our volunteers will have full lives with school, jobs, families, children and other important aspects of their lives. But, if you promise to do something but can\u2019t, let us know, so we can make other plans.<\/p><p>2. Help someone when you have the chance: It will give you satisfaction, and you may have an ally when you need one.<\/p><p>3. Be curious: If something in your work area doesn\u2019t make sense, speak up and ask why. You will learn something and\/or you will have pointed out a weakness in our strategy.<\/p><p>4. Build a network: Your success in your career is often more dependent on those you can recruit to help you with problems than on your own ability.<\/p><p>5. Learn to work in a team. In your role as an AofV volunteer, you will likely be working in a team with other people. A well-functioning team can accomplish much more than individual members by themselves.<\/p><p>6. Don\u2019t neglect your personal life. Few people on their deathbed say \u201cI wish I had spent more time at the office.\u201d Love, travel, have dreams and live them.<\/p><p>7. Don\u2019t discriminate against or harass other volunteers or partners: We don\u2019t expect any problems in this area, but we mention it for completeness. We will have a wonderfully diverse group of members and volunteers from many countries in the world, with different religions, ages, sexual orientations and other characteristics. I find it exciting to be building the diverse team of volunteers that we will have. None of you should experience any discrimination or harassment, but if you do, you can contact:<\/p><ul><li>Your Team Leader, if you have one. or:<\/li><li>me, Ray Kronquist, President (e-mail: ray@kronquist.com tel: +1-408-929-9066)<\/li><\/ul><p>8. Be careful of the information you receive. In general, we want to share our knowledge with all who could benefit from it. However, there are some exceptions.\u00a0 We don\u2019t share information when it could hurt someone.\u00a0 For example:<\/p><ul><li>We don\u2019t share personal information that someone gives us inconfidence.<\/li><li>We don\u2019t share information on our members or donors.<\/li><li>We don\u2019t give information about a company\u2019s activities to their competitors.<\/li><li>We don\u2019t share information that the person who gave it to you would not want to be made public. If in doubt, ask them.<\/li><\/ul><p>If you have suggestions on how we can improve our policies or anything else in our organization, please feel free to contact me at any time.\u00a0 Also, if you ever need advice of any kind, I may be able to offer some ideas.\u00a0 In my mid-eighties, I may not yet be wise, but I\u2019ve been an entrepreneur most of my career, and I\u2019ve learned some things along the way.
