Our strategy, our accomplishments
Army of Volunteers for Earth started recruiting volunteers in February 2021. By Q1 2023 we recruited volunteers from over 20 countries, who have a broad range of background in science, engineering and business. And we’re growing fast!
Strategy
Our strategy is to make climate change economically exciting. We believe that connecting innovative tech companies with more traditional companies that are looking for climate solutions is a win-win for all industry, and our planet.
Our global network of volunteers promote new technologies worldwide:
- We match new tech to investors and grants
- We connect new tech companies to customers
- We develop teams of Country Partners – many of whom run community environmental organizations – to work at many levels, including local climate awareness and societal change.
- We scale successful country projects in other locales.
Accomplishments
Our database today includes hundreds of companies that offer a variety of technologies to help fight the climate change. We describe them and the ways we support their work on our Technologies AofV Supports page.
We also have a database of hundreds of funding organizations. By matching these climate investors and grants to climate innovators, we can clear the way for faster progress on reducing the life-threatening greenhouse gases now present in Earth’s atmosphere.
How we support climate friendly technology companies
We start with a meeting to discuss their technology and business model. We determine what the needs of the company are, and which of these needs could be met by the efforts of our volunteers and other people. We can also seek to find customers, suppliers, partners, information, funding and help in other ways.
How we support our Country Partners and replicate their successful business models
We create or identify teams of volunteers across the globe. The country partners share their successes, challenges and learnings, and we share our knowledge with them and the technology companies we support.
- This shortens everyone’s learning curve and helps the companies speed up acceptance of their technologies.
- We also then work with the country partners to replicate and adapt solutions from the tech companies we support.
- The result? Lowering greenhouse gases at a global and local level.
